Sam Stech
 Karateka of the Year
2013

Sam Stech

Born near Paonia, Colorado…

Sam is Home Schooled and is in the 8th grade…

Training with North Fork Karate for the past 3 years, Sam has earned his Blue Belt, 4th kyu…He likes kata and is learning Bassai-Dai now…But, Sam’s favorite activity is Kumite, with a side of board breaking…A quick learner who is becoming very good at both…Sam is the lowest level belt, 4th kyu, ever invited to attend instructor training…this is quite an honor…

Sensei McGavin told the gathering on Saturday, how he could always count on Sam to help in the Little Dragon and Beginners class…He attends every class he can, and is first to volunteer to show or to help the younger students…Congratulations on your success, Sam…

Marie Kebba

Marie Kebba

Marie studied Shotokan for over ten years, before a devastating injury at work forced her to stop training…Marie joined NFK in 2009, as a white belt, and quickly fought off old injuries to earn her 2nd Kyu…Kata and kihon are some of Marie’s favorite activities in class…Tekki Shodan is Marie’s favorite kata, for now…

Marie is an outstanding person to know…She is always ready to help to do what needs doing…Whether it is setting up and running a Competition, or just singing Happy Birthday to one of our karateka…

Congratulations, Marie, Great job … keep it going…
